Adsorption dehumidifier for cold rooms WDH-DS3

A handy dehumidifier with adsorption technology. Adsorption is useful where the room air is cold or where very low humidity levels are required. The "DS3" is also ideal for quickly drying laundry in cool basements .

Unlike condensation dehumidifiers (dehumidifiers with a compressor), dehumidifiers with adsorption technology maintain a nearly constant dehumidification performance even at cold temperatures. They require virtually no warm-up time after being switched on until effective dehumidification begins. Due to their compressor-free design, these dryers are lightweight at only 7.5 kg. Technologically, the unit could even extract water from the air below freezing; however, the water in the collection tray would then freeze, so 0.5°C is the limit for operation. Adsorption dryers can also be used effectively at warmer temperatures, but their energy consumption per liter of water extracted is higher in temperate rooms than that of compressor dehumidifiers (condensation dehumidifiers). The critical point is around 8-10°C, meaning that below this temperature, adsorption dryers are more efficient, while above it, condensation dryers are more efficient.

Once the target humidity is reached, the dehumidification process stops, while the fan continues to run for a few minutes until the unit has cooled down sufficiently. Dehumidification and fan then pause until the humidity in the room rises above the desired target level again. The fan is powerful and can be adjusted to three different speeds. This is particularly advantageous when drying laundry, as it significantly speeds up the drying process. The vertically adjustable air outlet louvers allow the dry air to be directed as needed. The fan noise is audible even at the lowest setting, making the DS3 less suitable for very quiet bedrooms.

Special air purification function with HEPA filter
The DS3 can also be used as an air purifier. A compatible HEPA filter, available from us, can be installed in the air intake area. This filter achieves a purity rate of over 99.9%, removing all airborne particles such as pollen, fine dust, spores, viruses, and germs. The air purification mode can be used in conjunction with dehumidification, but also independently thanks to the pure air recirculation setting. The filter can be ordered separately.
