The ARGO Ulisse 13 DCI Eco is one of the most powerful and efficient portable split air conditioners in Europe. It was developed for users looking for a very quiet, energy-efficient, and high-quality air conditioner without fixed installation or structural modifications.
Ideally suited for bedrooms, attic apartments, living rooms, offices, doctor's offices, holiday apartments, and rental properties where classic split air conditioning systems are not allowed to be installed.
The modern DC inverter technology automatically adjusts the power to the actual cooling demand. This makes the device particularly efficient, maintains a constant temperature, and significantly reduces power consumption. With 4 kW / 13'340 BTU cooling capacity, the system is also suitable for larger rooms.
Comfortable control is easily done via the included remote control, which allows precise adjustment of temperature, timer, operating modes, and all important functions.
The indoor and outdoor units are connected by a sensitive refrigerant line. This must not be kinked, crushed, or damaged.

Is the device quiet?
Yes. The ARGO Ulisse 13 DCI only reaches 37–40 dB(A) at the lowest fan speed, making it very suitable for bedrooms. At full load (with strong ventilation and a large difference between actual and desired temperature, the noise increases significantly.
Does it need an exhaust hose?
No. It is a true split system. The indoor and outdoor units are connected by a line. In this line, the refrigerant is transported, and the extracted moisture is led via a hose to the outdoor unit, where it is atomized. An exhaust hose is not necessary.
Is a fixed installation necessary?
No. The device is fully portable and requires no structural changes. Nothing needs to be drilled or mounted – ideal for rental apartments.
Suitable for rental apartments?

What room size is the Ulisse suitable for?
The suitable room size depends heavily on insulation and heat sources. Typically, 4.0 kW of cooling capacity is sufficient for:
• 30–45 m² with normal room height (approx. 2.5 m)
• 25–35 m² with strong sunlight, attic, or poor insulation
• Up to approx. 55 m² with very good insulation and few heat sources
As a rule of thumb, for living rooms, you can often count on 60–100 W of cooling capacity per m²:
• 4.0 kW ÷ 100 W/m² → approx. 40 m²
• 4.0 kW ÷ 60 W/m² → approx. 67 m²
Is this air conditioner efficient? What does the SEER of 5.2 mean?
The SEER value (Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio) describes the energy efficiency over the entire cooling period. A value of 5.2 means:
For 1 kWh of electricity, the device delivers an average of 5.2 kWh of cooling capacity.
Thanks to DC inverter technology, the compressor adjusts its power precisely to the demand. This optimizes speed, noise development, and power consumption.
For comparison: Mobile air conditioners with exhaust hoses usually only reach about 2.6 – so the Ulisse is about twice as efficient.
How much does electricity cost for this air conditioner?
Consumption depends heavily on the desired temperature difference as well as on heat sources in the room and sunlight. It ranges – depending on temperature and operating mode – between 300 W (normal heat) and 800 W (hot summer days).
At an average Swiss electricity price of 0.30 CHF/kWh, 12 hours of operation per day results in approximately:
