Does a dehumidifier really help against mold?
Yes, absolutely. High humidity provides the breeding ground for mold. By lowering the relative humidity and keeping it at a healthy level, the dehumidifier permanently removes the nutrient base for mold.
Is the device suitable for the basement?
Yes. The WDH-520EB was specifically developed for the demanding conditions in damp cellars, old buildings, and hobby rooms and works reliably even at cooler temperatures.
Can the device be used to dry laundry?
Yes. Many customers use the dehumidifier as a room air laundry dryer. It significantly speeds up the drying process in the room and prevents moisture from wet clothes from penetrating the walls.
What should the optimal humidity be?
In inhabited rooms, a relative humidity of 40% to 60% is considered ideal for health and building fabric. In the cellar, values below 65% should be aimed for to prevent mold.
Can the device run continuously?
Yes. The device is designed for continuous use. Via the integrated condensate hose connection, water can be drained directly into a drain, eliminating the need to empty the tank.
Does the WDH-520EB have a hose connection?
Yes. It has a pre-punched plastic plate on the back that can be broken out. Through this hole, the hose can then be attached to the drain tap. The matching hose has an inner diameter of 12 mm. It must be laid with a downward slope so that the condensate does not flow back into the device.
